Reconcile with your opposition friends - Ofosu Nkansah to government, NPP bigwigs

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), has called on government officials and key figures within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reconcile with their allies from when the party was in opposition.

In a recent social media post, he emphasised the need for unity within the party to strengthen its chances of retaining power in the December elections.

Ofosu Nkansah stated that a growing divide has emerged between the NPP leadership and some party faithful, leading to discontent within the party.

He urged NPP leaders to make efforts to bridge this gap, stressing that internal unity is essential for the party to mount a strong and effective campaign ahead of the 2024 elections.

He further stressed that unity within the party is not only crucial for electoral success but also for creating a cohesive team of members who can work together to champion the party’s vision.

Ofosu Nkansah also noted that the party’s ability to retain power will depend largely on its ability to present a united front, especially during the critical campaign period.

According to him, it is not too late for the NPP bigwigs and government officials to reconcile with disgruntled members who feel alienated.

He encouraged them to reach out to these individuals, many of whom he believes are ready to move past their grievances and contribute to the party’s efforts once again.

The key, he noted, is for the leadership to take the first step toward mending relationships.

“Dear NPP Appointee/NPP person who gets Gov't opportunities, that circle of friends you belonged to and did NPP Politics with when we were in opposition, did you maintain your relationship with them when you got your position or opportunities?

“Some of you are too selfish and you make Party People struggle because of how you have done your Politics when we got Power. If you are like that, it's not too late to change,” he posted.

The NPP is seeking a third term at political power, with the mantra of 'breaking the eight,' with an aim of becoming the first political party in Ghana to stay in power beyond eight years.
