A 13-member reconstituted board of governors to assist in the efficient management of the Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School has been inaugurated at Kumawu in the Sekyere Afram Plains District.
Mr Charles Boakye, a Lecturer at the Kumasi Polytechnic, is the Chairman.
Mr Joseph Kwabena Onyinah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, in performing the inaugural ceremony, called for more community involvement in the running of the schools.
He said they need to be active part of the effort at creating the right environment for effective teaching and learning.
He said this is what the decentralization of the educational system is meant to achieve, to bring all stakeholders into the school governance.
Mr Boakye praised contribution made by the communities towards the development of education and asked the board to forge stronger links with the local community.
He asked the members to put the interest of the school ahead of individual convenience.
Mr A. W. Nantwi, the Headmaster of the school, said the performance of the school has been encouraging and that the student population has now reached 3,000.
