Mother of late Priscilla Kpotivi has shared how she received the devastating news
The mother of one of the six young ladies who lost their lives in the tragic incident that happened at El-Wak during the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise in Accra has shared more details about her daughter.
Speaking to the media on November 14, 2025, the mother of late Priscilla Kpotivi shared how she received the devastating news about the death of her daughter.
“When we heard the news, her brother went looking for her at the 37 hospital. When he got there, he searched the entire hospital but couldn’t see her until someone told him to search the morgue. That was how he saw her lifeless body.

“They didn’t inform me about it, but came home to assure me that she was alive but in critical condition, so we should pray about it. I couldn’t sleep that night because I felt something wasn’t right. It was the following morning that they told me she was dead,” she said.
She also recounted the last conversation she had with her daughter before her departure to El-Wak.
According to her, the 25-year-old Priscilla promised to support the family, especially her siblings.
“They told me yesterday morning that my daughter was dead. Before leaving, she told me that if she gets the job, she would support me and take care of the family because we are suffering.
She is the breadwinner of the family,” she said.

Meanwhile, the government has disclosed that it will support the burial and funeral arrangements of the six young women who lost their lives during the tragic stampede at El-Wak Stadium.
The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, made this known during a visit to one of the bereaved families at Eyan Maim in the Central Region on Friday, November 14, 2025.
She emphasised that the state will ensure each victim receives a dignified burial, befitting their aspirations to serve Ghana.
