Rector of Kumasi Polytechnic celebrated

Professor Nicholas N. N. Nsowah-Nuamah, Rector of the Kumasi Polytechnic, has advised the youth to put premium on hard work and discipline, saying, it is the path to success.

He noted that with hard work, integrity, dedication and humility, everybody could achieve greater heights in life, regardless of their socio-economic background.

He was speaking at a ceremony organized by the International Institute for Governance and Development (IIGD), Ghana-South Africa, to recognize his outstanding works and academic achievements.

The Rector is an academic, widely acknowledged for having tremendously impacted knowledge, especially in the area of Statistics.

The event coincided with the launch of the new edition of the Afro-Leadership Magazine, specially dedicated to his works and achievements.

Prof Nsowah-Nuamah used the occasion to tell his life story - a poor rural child, who faced numerous challenges, but, who through the determination to succeed, combined with hard work, and blessings from God, has become an accomplisher.

He encouraged the youth not to despair but continue to remain focused on their dreams.

Dr Godwin Davies, Executive Director of IIGD, underlined the need to recognize excellence in academia.

He said the honour was to extol the achievement of Prof Nsowah-Nuamah as a leader, whose life has had great influence and impact on the lives of many young Ghanaians.

Oheneba Adusei-Poku, the Akyempimhene, eulogized the Rector for his exemplary leadership, which has helped to transform the Kumasi Polytechnic into one of the leading institutions in the country.

He urged the staff and students of the polytechnic to continue to give him the needed support to pursue his vision for the school.
