Burial took place at Kwamang in the Sekyere West District of Ashanti of formers Ghana Armed Forces Sergeant-Major Ex-Warrant Officer Class One Frimpong alias "Red Light" at the week end.
The former Forces Sergeant Major, who died on 11th January 2003, at the age of 65, left behind a wife and six children. Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, National Vice-Chairman of the NDC, laid a wreath on behalf of former President Jerry John Rawlings and cadres of the "Revolution" while Real Admiral J. K. Gbenah, Chief of Naval Staff laid one wreath on behalf of President J.A.Kufuor and the Republic of Ghana.
Air Vice-Marshall E. A. Mantey laid one on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Brigadier George Ayiku, General Officer Commanding the Northern Command, also laid wreath on behalf of the Army Commander, Officers and Men of the Ghana Army. In a sermon, the Reverend Major Abraham Lord A. Hammond, Chaplain of the Third Battalion of Infantry said:
"The labourer's task has ended and that the work of the former WO1, had ended on earth and was, therefore, going back to his maker". On behalf of the NDC, former President Rawlings presented ?1 million and assorted drinks to the family.
