Accra, April 18, GNA - Ms Susan Domenyo Gavor, Acting Executive Secretary of Youth For Christ (YUFRIST) on Friday called for a redoubling of efforts at meeting the needs of the underprivileged in society. She said the current global financial crisis implied that more hardship would continue to hit the poor because aids from benevolent donors to the poor would reduce or even stop. Ms Gavor, who said this when she launched the 4th Anniversary celebration of YUFRIST in Accra said this called for a more dedicated approach by Non Governmental Agencies (NGO) to refocus their activities to meet the needs of the poor in fulfillment of the scriptures. She said organizations and well-meaning members of the public should not hide behind the global financial crisis to refuse to give to the needy in society, saying there was blessing in giving. YUFRIST, an NGO based in Accra, works to improve the lot of the underprivileged in society.
