Reflect on the death of Christ to forgive each other-Nana Angu

Awudua (W/R)), April 7, GNA - Nana Kwabena Angu II, chief of Apinto Divisional Area, has told his people to reflect on the death of Jesus Christ to burry their differences and live in unity. He said retaliation would only prolong the five years of chieftaincy dispute that Awudua had gone through.

Nana Angu said this yesterday to mark their "Adum" day. The day is observed every three weeks when chiefs, Queen mothers, elders and people in the Divisional Area gather at the Divisional Palace to pour libation, discuss issues concerning the divisional area and reprimand those who have erred.

Yesterday's meeting was exceptional in the sense that it marked reconciliation and re-unification of Awudua people after five years of a chieftaincy dispute.

Nana Angu said the dispute brought hardship to the people and left in its trail destroyed properties, displaced people and retarded development.

He said now that court actions have come to an end there was the need for everybody to forgive each other and live together as brothers and sisters.

Nana Angu invited those on the other side of the dispute to forget about the past and advised them to shun provocation, adding, "Now what is left for us to do is to forge ahead in unity to develop Awudua". He said Awudua was the place gold was first mined in the area but the town is in shambles.

Nana Angu appealed to those who are writing anonymous letters to desist from that. The people danced to brass band music and "Asafo" songs.
