Tue, 23 Sep 1997 Source: --

Ho, (Volta Region) 19, Sept The Volta Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed confidence in the party's top hierarchy and urged it not to be shaken by any unwarranted attacks. This is contained in a resolution adopted on September 16 at a meeting attended by constituency chairmen, secretaries and the regional core-executives of the party and signed by 34 representatives. The resolution read by Mr. T.R.K. Yaokumah-Adanu, Deputy Regional Secretary of the party, said they observed with profound dismay the orchestrated campaign to soil and destroy the reputation of top party and government officials particularly, Dr. Obed Asamoah, chairman of the Finance Committee of the NDC and Minister of Justice and Attorney-General. They said they admired Dr. Asamoah's contributions to the legal, political and social development of the party, government and the nation, his display of efficiency, honesty, truthfulness and high sense of integrity coupled with his loyalty to the party and the government. The representatives, therefore, affirmed their confidence in, and support for Dr. Asamoah, President Jerry John Rawlings and the party for the achievement of unity, stability and development of the NDC and the nation.
