Accra July 7, GNA- The Conventions People Party (CPP), on Sunday, called on Ghanaians not to vote for The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their failure to unite the country for accelerated development.
The call was made during a CPP campaign at Adaaman in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra on Saturday.
Mr William Dowokpor, parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency said the two political parties had failed to solve the problems confronting Ghanaians after 16 years of NDC and NPP rule. He noted that his constituency was one of the deprived communities in Accra and lacked social amenities such as, proper drainage system and access to portable water.
He said when voted into power come 2008, the CPP would initiate reforms to have the Metropolitan and District Chief Executives elected by their communities.
"Metropolitan and District Chief Executives will be responsive to the needs of their communities, if they are elected by their various communities, instead of being appointed by the president," he said.
