Ghanaian illegal immigrants living in Sakakah, a city in Saudi Arabia have appealed to the government to come to their aid.

According to one of the victims named Gifty Opare via a video recording which was aired on Atinka TV’s Morning Show, ‘Ghana Nie’ Thursday, they are really suffering and need the government of Ghana to heed to their pleas.

She said they were arrested by some policemen who claimed they were being sent to a deportation center and finally the Embassy but did otherwise.

However, they have been confined in a small room which is far away from the Embassy.

Gifty stated that because of poor ventilation and how they are crowded in the room, she’s unwell.

She also said that they have called on the Ghana Embassy several times for help but their calls have been ignored.

She pointed out that some of her colleagues have been confined in the room for almost three months. They fear that the situation will get out of hand after the deadline Saudi government came out with.

These immigrants trust that their SOS calls to government via the video will be promptly attended to in order to avoid further punishment.
