Some residents around Konongo have been captured in a social media video siphoning fuel from a fuel tanker that had overturned to the side of a road.
In the video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the residents are seen carrying various plastic containers and gallons to the scene to fill them with the overflowing fuel.
Among the people captured were men, women and children.
They all took turns to fill their containers.
The thoughts of netizens who reacted to the video were divided, with a section of internet users blaming the economy for people rushing to the scene to siphon fuel with the hope of selling it to make some money, while another group expressed disappointment in the residents for not considering safety protocols.
