Tension is currently mounting at Kyempo near Juaso in the Ashanti Region as the Queenmother of the town.

Nana Obiyaa Akyim 3rd is being accused of trying to install a chief for the town without approval from the four (4) royal gates that are mandated to perform the rites for the installation of a chief.

Spokesperson for the royal gates, Kwame Owusu in an interview said, the Queenmother was recently distooled for exhibiting actions which were contrary to the dictates of their tradition, however, she was pardoned and allowed to rule again.

He explained, the Kokofuhene was the one who pleaded on her behalf and asked the royal gates together with the Queenmother install a new chief because it was vacant.

But, she has gone outside the royal gates to pick one Kwadwo Owusu aka Adjiri from Akim Swredru to install him as a chief.

She is doing that because she is afraid we will destool her again after the installation of the new chief, he said.Kwame Owusu pointed out that, the royal gates have two persons as candidate for the vacant stool and per tradition, any of the two could be installed as the new chief for the area.

The two he explained are expected to meet and deliberate and come to a conclusion that, anyone who is selected will get support from the other.

The two from the royal gates he said are, Yaw Bimpong, based in the US and Kweku Aboagye based in Accra.According to him, they want peace to prevail and will not want the Queenmother install the unqualified candidate since it will lead to a chieftaincy dispute in the area.Kwame Owusu said, the police have notified over the matter.
