Residents of Mahia Mangoasi demonstrate against poor road network.

Hundreds of residents in Mahia Mangoase have besieged the road network that links the community to Ablekuma, Nsakena, Oduma Junction and other surrounding areas to demonstrate against the government. They claim they have been neglected by the government as all the road networks that link the community are in deplorable state.

The demonstration is led by the various transport unions in the community and surrounding areas.

They have blocked all access to the road network with bonfire, forcing commuters to alight to join their action.

Workers and school children have been left stranded as a result of the exercise which started around 4:00 and expected to end at 12:00pm.

Some of the workers who claim to be having the keys of their shops were visibly seen crying, claiming that their failure to get to the workplace on time will result in they lose their jobs.

“No car is coming in and no car is going out. We want the government to feel the plight of the people. Look at the bad roads – you ply them once and you end up going to workshop. Why is the government being insensitive to our need. They should fix our roads for us and they will enjoy their peace”, one of the demonstrators who only gave his name Kofi Ansah told kasapafmonline.com, Monday, in an interview.

It is not clear whether the demonstrators have informed the police prior to embarking on their action.
