Some senior staff and top officials holding multiple positions at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are to resign according to a directive from the new Board of Directors, MyNewsgh.com has filed.

The Board has approved a number of reforms in the leadership structure and practices of the Hospital as part of measures to promote and deepen the culture of transformational leadership in the institution.

According to the KATH’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso, the new reforms will also include appointing executive management and deputy directors on renewable four-year fixed-term basis.

The CEO revealed this at the 2018 End of Year Performance Review under the theme: “setting the pace for quality tertiary healthcare delivery through transformation leadership”

“The new policy also opened up the leadership of the directorates and unit of the Hospital to quality staff to ensure that best ones were appointed as heads on competitive basics for a two-year term”, Dr. Owusu-Danso added.

He also mentioned some of the remarkable achievements the new Board has chalked since he took the reigns of office as Chief Executive for the past two years.

“Among the equipment procured in the course of the last year were power drills and accessories for the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate valued at GH¢300,000, A Haematology Analyser also valued at GH¢490,000 and ventilators for the Intensive Care”

“We are also hopeful that given engagements and processes so far executed work is expected to resume this year on the 42 old Maternity and Children Complex for eventual completion”
