Kumasi, Sept. 16, GNA -- The Canada branch of the Resurrection Power Ministries on Friday, donated cash of two million cedis and some items worth 30 million cedis to the Kumasi Children's Home. The items included three wheel chairs, three bales of second-hand clothing, five cartons of key soap, two bags of rice, sugar and milk. Rev. Daniel Adu Mensah, Deputy General Overseer of the church in Ghana, who made the presentation, said the church had at heart the plight of the needy children in society.
He said the donation was therefore its widow's mite towards the feeding and maintenance of the children at the home. Rev Mensah stressed the need for individuals, churches and public spirited organisations to have compassion, love and kindness at all times for the needy children and always assist them in society. Miss Victoria Asugnya, Supervisor of the Home, thanked the church for the gesture and hoped the donation would greatly enhance the lives of the children.
She appealed to individuals, societies, churches and organisations to emulate the example and donate generously towards the upkeep and maintenance of needy children in society to help train them to contribute positively to the development of the country in future.
