Reverend Stephen Kwarteng, Head Pastor of Grace Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has cautioned security agencies to be vigilant and stop people from bringing weapons into the country to foment trouble during this year’s electioneering process.

He advised the youth to stay away from being used as conduits by politicians to create and perpetrate violence for their selfish interest as well as other negative acts which could jeopardise their future.

Reverend Kwarteng was giving his New Year’s message at the Grace Congregation Presbyterian Church in the Dormaa East District of Brong – Ahafo Region.

He cautioned the youth not to copy the hypocritical attitude of some leaders including parliamentarians, whom he claimed invoked curses during their deliberations, explaining that Jesus Christ had redeemed Christians from curses and bondages.

He said because Christians have been redeemed, they were not under any obligation to allow themselves to be engaged by some mischievous politicians to ruin their future lives.

Reverend Kwarteng underscored the need to protect and maintain the peace currently enjoyed in the country and not to take it for granted to avoid violence during the elections.
