Rev Obofour donates relief materials to TGH, Kpone Health Centre

Founder and leader of Anointed Palace Church (APC), Francis Antwi, popularly known as Rev Obofour, has donated medical supplies and cash to the Tema General Hospital(TGH) and Kpone Health centre in aid of the fight against COVID-19.

The TGH, which is one of the national designated COVID-19 centres, received items including hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, tissues, soaps, hospital beds and an amount of GH? 100,000 while the Kpone Health centre also received medical suppliers, including Personal Protective Equipment, soaps, sanitizers and an amount of GH? 10,000.

The presentation, which was made by Rev Obofour and his foundation, known as Cash Foundation in collaboration with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Kpone-Katamanso, was to aid frontline health personnel, especially in the hospitals to effectively combat the deadly virus.

Rev Obofour, handing over the items to the hospital, said the gesture was part of their support to help the health institutions effectively handle the COVID-19 situation in the country.

He added that his team together with the members of the church would also help the needy, especially in the areas affected by the lockdown by providing them with rice and other items.

He encouraged his fellow pastors to abide by the President's directive on preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus in Ghana adding that it was a good initiative to stop all social gathering including church services.

The Medical Director of the Tema General Hospital, Dr Richard Anthony, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the church for the generous donation and entreated other religious organizations to emulate the gesture.

The NPP Parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso constituency, Mr Hopeson Adorye, who was part of the team that donated to the Tema General hospital and the Kpone health center, thanked, Rev Obofour for his kind gesture.

“This is the time we have to come together as one people to fight against this virus, because the virus knows no one, it could be you, your loved ones or even me, so we all have to come on board and play our role as members of a nation to drive away this virus, ” he said.

Mr. Collins Agyemang, who received the items on behalf of the Kpone Health Centre, thanked Rev Obofour and his team and also reiterated the need for the public to follow the precautions and protocols against the virus.
