Review Of Phone-Ins

CHOICE FM PHONE-INS

? The NPP government is using the DAILY GUIDE newspaper to tear the NDC apart but they will never succeed. We are going to vote out the non-performing NPP government in 2004.

? The former Liberian President, Charles Taylor, should be made to return all monies he has in foreign banks to Liberia. He should not be allowed to enjoy his booty while his country is in shambles.

? The NDC should be circumspect in its response to the advice, their former Press Secretary, Vincent Assiseh, gave to the party. Does the NDC want to be praised always? Assiseh has said the right thing, and so the NDC should heed his advice.

? The US government should stop bullying poor countries only to give them financial support in return. If the US wants its citizens who commit crimes in other countries to be extradited to the US for prosecution, why is it calling for the blood of Charles Taylor of Liberia?

? If the NDC would always listen to the truth, they would have taken the advice from Vincent Assiseh in good faith. Assiseh was a member of the party and so knows what is wrong with it. He has spoken the truth.

? Dzidzor should learn how to respect elders. When Vincent Assiseh was with the NDC, everything he said was seen as right by her. Now that he is out of the party he has become the devil. This is what Dzidzor has been doing to NDC activists who fall out with the party.

? Nowhere in Vincent Assiseh’s interview on Radio Universe did he insult former President Rawlings. The man was speaking his mind. Dzidzor should not tell lies about Vincent Assiseh.

GOLD FM PHONE-INS

? President Kufuor should address the problems Ghanaians are going through and not tell us that the NPP government would not bow to pressures. He should listen to what the people say.

? The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission should not allow providers of Utility Services to increase their rates unnecessarily. The burden is too much for Ghanaians to bear.

? The problems Ghanaians are facing are as a result of the incompetence of the NPP government. During its three years in office, the Kufuor administration has been very insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians.

? President Kufuor should resign his office before the 2004 elections to avoid a humiliating defeat from the NDC. The NPP has failed Ghanaians and so it should be voted out of power in 2004.

? Prof. Atta Mills has disgraced himself by his insulting remarks against the Central Regional Minister, Isaac Edumadze. Edumadze in no way insulted Prof. Mills as NDC newspapers had reported. It was Mills who lambasted Edumadze.

ADOM FM PHONE-INS

? The NPP government has done well after just three years in office, so the NDC should not politicize issues concerning the NPP as its members of Parliament keep doing on radio stations. What did the NDC do to eliminate ghost names on government payroll?

? The NPP should not accuse the NDC of being responsible for the woes of the economy. During the NDC era, prices of goods and services were not as high as in the three years of the NPP. The NPP has worsened the problems of Ghanaians.

? Ghana started derailing from a sound economic path during the PNDC/DNC regimes and so Ghanaians should know who to blame and not the NPP government. Where are all the factories we had when the 31st December coup took place?

? It was unfortunate that Prof. Atta Mills should use abusive language on Isaac Edumadze. This is what the NDC does and when there is a response, they start accusing the government of using the media against them.

? Before the PNDC/NDC era, Ghana could boast of factories such as Ghana Sanyo, Tema Steelworks and Ghana Textiles Manufacturing Company, which employed a large number of the youth in Ghana, especially in the Greater Accra Region. These factories folded up as a result of bad governance by the NDC so the NDC should not blame the NPP for the current rate of unemployment.

? The unnecessary criticisms from the NDC against the NPP are mere political talk which must not be taken seriously. If the NDC finds faults with anything it has the freedom to investigate it but it should not speculate or provide false information on issues.

? The government should make all efforts to retrieve all loans granted to parliamentarians from 1992. They sit in parliament and debate unnecessarily on issues instead of tackling issues of national importance.

PEACE FM PHONE-INS

? The NDC created a lot of mess during its tenure of office. There is the need for members of the party to apologies to Ghanaians for their past deeds for forgiveness.

? Can the law on causing financial loss to the state be of some assistance in moving this nation forward? The trial of the former ministers of state in the Quality Grain trial should serve as a lesson to both present and future politicians, especially those who do not take advice.

? The President’s encounter with his ministers the other day was a step in the right direction. I wish the President would have more of such encounters to keep his ministers on track.

? The law on causing financial loss to the state should not be repealed. I have taken this position because of the manner the NPP treated the NDC former Ministers. The same fate can equally befall the NPP ministers.

? Is the NPP aware that the masses are suffering? The dog chain sellers they promised to employ in gainful ventures are still roaming the streets without jobs to do.

? Was the Quality Grain trial a political trial? If yes, then NPP should know that there are some horrible days ahead of them.

? Is it true that water and electricity tariffs have gone up again? If it is true, then how do we cope with the high school fees and other services in the system?
