A motorbike delivery rider, Benjamin Darko, has detailed how he earns about GH¢800 daily from delivery services.
Speaking in a viral post on X on May 22, 2026, Darko said he began using the electric motorbike in February 2026 under a flexible payment arrangement that allows riders to own the bikes while working with the delivery service company.
“I make about GH¢800 a day riding this electric motorbike for delivery services, and I pay GH¢399 weekly to the company,” he said.
According to him, the system has made it easier for young people to enter the delivery business without having to raise large sums of money to purchase a motorbike.
Benjamin explained that the electric motorbike he currently uses is valued at GH¢37,000, but the payment structure allows him to pay toward ownership over time while continuing to earn a living.
For the young rider, the business has become more than just a daily hustle.
It has provided him with financial stability at a time when many young Ghanaians are struggling to find sustainable jobs amid rising living costs and unemployment.
He also disclosed that he is willing to help other interested individuals join the business and acquire their own bikes.
The growing popularity of electric motorbike delivery services is gradually changing the transport and delivery landscape in Ghana, with many young people turning to app-based work opportunities as a means of survival and economic independence.
Benjamin’s story reflects how technology-driven transport services are creating new opportunities for Ghana’s youth, especially those seeking flexible ways to earn income and build long-term assets.
