Robbers and their boss nabbed

The leader of a robbery gang which allegedly attacked a Nigerian man at his residence at Kwabenya, a suburb of Accra, yesterday morning and bolted with his items, has finally been a arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command.

Suspect Lloyd Fugah, a retired teacher, was arrested at Tudu in Accra, after agreeing to meet and settle policemen with GH¢5,000 for his accomplices to be freed.

His boys, Frank Kudjo, 29 and Yaw Foli, 4I, were arrested yesterday morning around 1 am by a police patrol team after receiving a distress call from the police control room.

Narrating the incidence to Daily Guide, the Crime Officer in charge of the Accra Regional Police Command. Frank Adufati, indicated that around 12:30am, police had a distress call that a gang of armed robbers had attacked a house at Kwabenya.

He noted that a police patrol team from the Accra regional headquarters proceeded to the scene and managed to arrest the suspects in the act.

"At gunpoint, the two robbers robbed the victim of his Dell laptop, two mobile phones and other items."

He stated that the suspects, who were using,a Toyota Camry saloon car with registration number GE1060Y, tried to escape but police chased and arrested them.

Items found on them included a locally-made pistol, three cartridges, three mobiles, and a Dell laptop, concealed under a seat of their vehicle.

Superintendent Adufati said that upon interrogation, the two suspects mentioned Lloyd Fugah as their boss who contractcd them to attack the Nigerian.

"We spoke on phone and managed to convince the chief robber boss to bring GH¢5000 to free his men and when he appeared at Tudu, the agreed location, plain clothed police men grabbed him," he added.

He said upon interrogation, the two boys stated that Lloyd Fugah recruited them to attack the Nigeria, a claim he denied vehemently.

Meanwhile, the Accra police chief said investigations were ongoing for the suspects to be sent to court.
