Mr Samuel Narh Kodji, Ga West Municipal Director of Education, has called on parents to invest in the education of their children to enable them to grow to become useful citizens and contribute to national development.
He noted that investing in education had good prospects for the future and that every parent should ensure that they gave their wards very good education to secure their future.
Mr Kodji made the call at the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Roka International School at Fise, near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
It was on the theme: “Growing Deeper, Growing Stronger, Reaching Higher”.
Mr Kodji expressed regret about how some parents sometimes neglected their responsibilities `such as paying their children’s school fees and providing them with the basic needs for school.
He tasked the pupils to take their studies seriously and shy away from watching and playing video games.
The Municipal Director of Education commended the authorities of the school for providing q1uality education over the years and expressed the hope that they would continue to bring out children who would be ready to contribute to national development.
Mrs Perdita Owusu-Antwi, the Administrator of the school, said since 2009, the school had been chalking 100 per cent successes in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
She said discipline was the hallmark of the School, which had a well equipped science laboratory to produce excellent results.
“The school has a student population of about 1,200 and that we would continue to offer quality education and tuition at all times”.
Staff and individuals who had contributed immensely to make the school what it is today were honoured.
