Rotaract Ghana outdoors website

The Rotaract club of Ghana on Friday launched its official website in Accra.

The website's coming into being follows a unanimous agreement by Rotaract clubs all over the country after the national public relations office made a proposal to launch a website to compliment and augment efforts being made by the various clubs on social media to drum home what Rotaract is about.

Speaking at the launch, the national public relations officer of Rotaract Ghana PP Klenam Fiadzoe said, the website will be the one repository of information on all Rotaract activities and will place the club on an international pedestal.

He said technology is fast catching up with all sectors of human endeavors, therefore, it is important to take advantage of the convenience it presents in order to publicize the work of the Rotaract the club and reach out communities and nations in the world.

"As technology is fast growing, the national office would like to encourage all Rotaract clubs and PR directors to harness the power of these technologies in planning their meetings and embarking on their projects. When we can understand and make copious use of technology, we can succeed in taking our activities out of a box onto a global stage" Mr Fiadzoe said.

In a keynote address, the assistant Rotary public coordinator of zone 20A, District 9102, Roma Rosemary Puni said, "in an era that communication continues to be the most important tool in promoting a cause, the idea of a website is expedient".

According to madam Rosemary the idea of having a website was laudable because it reveals the works of an organization and makes room for interactions which welcomes feedbacks for betterment of the organization.

She advised members of the club to make good use of the website by updating it with relevant information, promoting their projects and using it as a tool to recruit new members among others.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women between 18 and 30 years. They are either community or university based, and they are sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary.
