SANKOFA TV opens its arms?

Sankofa Television, a broadcasting station on the world?s largest minority TV networks; Salto Broadcasting Amsterdam, The Netherlands is committed to promote ?The African? abroad.
It has thus extended an open invitation to producers of African music, films and works to join hands in its endeavour.
Sankofa, an Akan word from the Ashanti people of Ghana, West Africa literally means ?go back and retrieve?.
Based on a mythical bird that flies forwards with its head turned backwards, the Akans belief that the wisdom in learning from the past serves as a guide for planning the future.
Started in October 2001, Sankofa TV currently based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands is watched by over one and half million households in its broadcast vicinity, (Amsterdam and about 20 smaller cities).
Today, Sankofa TV serves an exceptional broad viewer base and is without doubt the best-watched TV station made by Africans for Africans in The EU.
Primarily, its target audience were Africans, however many non-Africans including people of African descent watch Sankofa.
Sankofa?s major programs include promoting varying African Cultures, featuring musical video clips/films from African artists/producers, documentaries, interviews and news.
It also features integration-oriented programs, discussions and promotional programs very ideal for African governments and private institutions.
Very soon, Sankofa TV could be watched on the Internet on a 24-hour basis throughout the week.
In collaboration with an IT school in Breda, south of The Netherlands, students are busily working on a major project to design & build a web-stream server to broadcast Sankofa TV on the web at varying bandwidths.
