Acting Executive Director for Labor Policy International, Mr. Seth Abloso, says there is no need to spend huge sums of money to investigate the fraud and misappropriation of funds at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) adding that there is an existing forensic report which has details of all the rots at the state institution.
In an interview with Atinka News, Mr. Abloso explained that similar fraud allegations emerged in the Kufuor Administration which called for a forensic investigation.
According to Mr. Seth Abloso, the report of forensic investigation was handed over to then Finance Minister, Nana Yaw Osafo Marfo.
’ I don’t understand why we have to spend huge sums of money to do another audit when we already have a ready and pending forensic audit report,’ he said.
The labour expert’s recommendation follows the interdiction of the head of SSNIT’s Management Information Systems, Dr Caleb Afaglo for presenting fake documents for the top job as the $72 million soft ware scandal continue to shock the nation.
Mr. Abloso believes the rot at SSNIT didn’t begin today but has been there for a very long time. ‘This is the main reason why the Right to Information Bill must be implemented so that such audit reports will be made accessible to all, especially journalists,” he stressed.
