SSSCE begins on July 5

Accra July 2, GNA - The 2004 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations will be written nation-wide in 522 Senior Secondary Schools from July 5 to August 4, 2004

This was contained in a statement signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Senior Public Affairs Officer of the West African Examination Council. The statement said a total number of 96,679 candidates made up of 54,514 boys and 42,165 girls would write the examination through out the country.

It assured the public that all the necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that the examinations are conducted successfully. The statement appealed to the public especially candidates to be wary of persons who claim to have Examination question papers.

"WAEC is very alert and will not hesitate to deal with any candidate, school, centre, supervisor or invigilator who infringes on any of its rules or tries to disrupt the conduct of the examination in any manner," the statement said.

It urged candidates to desist from engaging in malpractices during the examinations, which could lead to the cancellation of their results and wished all candidates the best of luck.
