A six unit class room block and other sanitary facilities has been constructed at Ntankoful, a small community in Sekondi in the western Region.
The school building constructed by the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly was funded by the German Development Bank (KFW) and other development partners, under the District Development Facility (DDF).
Captain RTD Anthony Cudjoe, Metropolitan Chief Executive at the inauguration of the facility said the assembly had received GHC4.18 million from the DDF to support infrastructure improvement and capacity building of staff.
He said the assembly was at the final stage of drawing up a comprehensive Asset management and Maintenance Plan to ensure that a good maintenance regime was in place for its projects.
Dr. Ulrich Schroder, KFW Banking Group Chief Executive Officer said education and information technology was key in developing the potential of the ordinary Ghanaian for the growth of the country.
Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, expressed gratitude to the donor partners and called on them to consider investing in the country’ s road network, particularly the Northern part of the Region.
Mr. Franklin Dzigbede, Metropolitan Director of Education said quality education delivery was a shared responsibility and called on all to support education delivery in the country.
