The UK and and Ireland Branch of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has called on the leadership of the party to expel Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom and Freddie Blay for indiscipline and undermining the party’s position on national issues.

In a statement signed by Michael Nunoo of the UK Secretariat, the Branch said it was dismayed by the activities of a few individuals in the party who are engaged in all kinds of political machinations to tie the CPP to the apron strings of the NPP administration.

The statement described the denunciation of the two individuals on the CPP Chairman’s call on Ghanaians to resist what it termed ''the NPP’s malicious aggravation of the sufferings of Ghanaians'' as the latest in the long list of opportunistic statements of a few who seek to place their personal interest above the supreme interest of the party.

It said it is now clear that the ''chicanery and vicious campaign'' was a grand design by the Parliamentary Action Group (PAG) of which the two are leading members to demoralize and divide the rank and file of the party, derail the unity of Nkrumahist forces and serve the interest of a few fortune seekers.

Dr Nduom, a leading member of the CPP is currently the Minister for Economic Planning and Regional Integration in line with the NPP’s all-inclusive government policy while Freddie Blay is the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
