The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has stated that although comments passed by Ghana’s Ambassador to South Africa, George Ayisi-Boateng, were not appropriate, sacking him won’t solve extreme partisanship in the country.

Ayisi-Boateng came under fire for declaring that his first priority is to the members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the discharge of his duties.

Ghana’s Ambassador to South Africa told members of the party’s Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) that he will put their interests above other Ghanaians.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr explained that his job as an ambassador is to respect all persons irrespective of political affiliations.

He reiterated that such utterances should be condemned from all angles and not only Ayisi Boateng.

” It is a culture in the political sphere and we have to find a way of dealing with it”, he added.
