The team manager for Accra Hearts of Oak Saban Quaye has disclosed to the media that there are no better strikers in the local scene at the moment apart from Saddick Adams who plays for arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
In an interview with the Kumasi based Fox FM he said, “Hearts of oak are not signing forwards to bolster their attacking options.
“I don’t agree with those blaming Hearts for not signing a striker, who are the strikers in this country now?.
“The only good striker in the country currently is Saddick Adams (of Asante Kotoko)”, he said.
Saddick Adams scored a historic hat-trick against Hearts of Oak on October 29 last year in the MTN FA cup final, where Kotoko beat Hearts 3-1 to clinch the 2017 FA cup trophy.
According to reports Head coach of Hearts of oak, Frank Nutall has petitioned the club to get him an attacker before the new season begins.
On the contrary, Hearts team manager Nii Saban Quaye thinks otherwise.
“If the coach says he needs a striker then I don’t agree, the team needs a midfielder who would be a distributor just like Winful Cobbinah.
The former team manager for the Black Stars also urged Ghanaians to rally behind Kotoko and Aduana Stars in their opening games in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup this weekend.
