Saeed elected SRC President of UEW

Winneba(CR), April 19, GNA - Mr Farouk A. Saeed, a Level 200 student of University of Education Winneba,(UEW) has been elected President of Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University for the next two years. Mr Saeed polled 2,170 votes to beat Mr Emmanuel D. Omenako also a level 200 Mathematics student who had 1,712 votes in a run-off. The run-off became necessary when none of them failed to obtain 50 per cent plus one vote required to be elected in the first election which took place on April 10.

Winneba(CR), April 19, GNA - Mr Farouk A. Saeed, a Level 200 student of University of Education Winneba,(UEW) has been elected President of Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University for the next two years. Mr Saeed polled 2,170 votes to beat Mr Emmanuel D. Omenako also a level 200 Mathematics student who had 1,712 votes in a run-off. Miss Salomey Nyantakyiwaaa was elected SRC Secretary when she polled 3,718 votes to beat Mr Osei Collins Sackitey who had 1,231 votes and Mr John N-Yelbi who had 971 votes. Mr Charles K. Abrew was elected SRC Financial Secretary, when he polled 2,172 to beat Mr Kenneth Barnes who had 923 votes and Mr George Afriyie who had 506 votes. Miss Sandra M. Yeboah, the sole candidate for Treasurer had 3,392 out of the 3,774 cast. Mr Collins S. Akotey, University Electoral Officer, declaring the results urged the students to support the executives for an efficient and effective administration during their tenure of office. 19 April 09
