Sakoti - the talensi-nabdam district

Sakoti is in the talensi-nabdam district of the upper east region. A new district Has been proposed by government and will be known as the nabdam district with Capital to be sited in the traditional town of nangoi. An area endowed with quality Gold.

Annually the sakoti-rana will give thanks to almighty god on behalf of the paramount chief and citizens of sakoti for end of of farming season crop harvest.

The pictures attached show the celebration for this year's (2011) thanks- giving to almighty god and to seek his blessings for the community. He made a call for an end to bush burning and support by parents for children in school. He advised parents not to only focus on school fees payment but to follow up to schools and collaborate with education staff and teachers to encourage their children in school attendance and learning.
