Samuel Nartey George is the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations
Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has disclosed that four law firms were engaged to help draft and review the NITA Bill and other digital legislation currently being developed by the government.
Speaking on JoyNews on May 30, 2026, he rejected suggestions that the ministry and its agencies were drafting laws without adequate legal scrutiny.
“The ministry is not sitting down with the agencies and just writing the bills,” he said.
Sam George explained that stakeholder comments are first reviewed by technical agencies before being forwarded to legal experts who assess the proposals against constitutional and legal requirements.
The minister named the firms involved in the process and said their role includes incorporating stakeholder feedback where appropriate.
“When you make your input, it goes through a process before a revised draft is produced,” he explained.
According to him, the structure was designed to ensure that the legislation meets legal standards while addressing concerns raised during consultations.
