Clad in all white and supported by executives from his consistuency, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George Sunday arrived at the premises of the Perez Chapel International to offer thanks to God for his miraculous win in the recently held National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Primaries held in his constituency.

The sitting Member of Parliament won the elections with 7 votes. Out of a total of 809 votes casted, Sam George managed to pull 407 votes while his contender, Michael Kwettey had 400 votes with two rejected ballots.

Expressing profound gratitude to God and Founder of Perez Chapel, Bishop Charles Agyinasare, he recalled how he had lost hope on the day of elections and how God came through for him.

“In the heat of the moment (Saturday) when the battle was tough, standing there and looking at what was happening I realized that physically and humanly speaking I was down… I had finished, there was nothing I could do”

He said that his battle for the seat was not ordinary, he was contesting with people who had publicly announced their consultation with other spiritual entities for assistance ahead of the NDC primaries. He however, trusted in the “God of Perez Chapel” for his victory.

“The forces that were against me this time prepared. It was both a spiritual and physical battle” he said.

He also recalled being called a ‘lunatic and a mad man’ when he decided to contest his predecessor in 2015.

Sam George says he has the support of his opponent Michael Kwettey the NDC’s constituency chairman who happens to be his cousin and believes that with that, ‘all hands are on deck for winning the seat in 2020”.

“In 2020, the vision is to keep a gap of twenty thousand (20,000) between myself and whoever the NPP elects and between John Mahama and whoever the NPP will elect. Gap twenty thousand is what we are focused on and everybody is on board”

A huge number of party delegates, well-wishers and family of Sam George trooped to the Dzorwulu branch of the Perez Chapel to render their thanks to God for the victory.
