.....3 Ghanaian Canadian Sisters to Bring their Ailing Mom from Ghana back to Canada

When the news about the plight of an elderly Ghanaian Canadian mother, Barbara Boachie-Yiadom, 53, became a headline in Ghana, it was quickly picked up by the Toronto Star and, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) TV followed it with an interview of the 3 daughters of Barbara living in Toronto. It then became a public knowledge that the 3 sisters are struggling to rescue their ailing mother who is now stranded in Ghana (Diasporian News of Friday, 13 November 2015 on Ghanaweb).

Since it is said that ‘charity begins at home’ Ghanaians living in Toronto have willingly taken up the challenge to financially and spiritually assist the 3 Boachie-Yiadom sisters, Stacey, 22, Drucilla, 20, and Stephanie, 24, to bring their mother from Ghana to Canada for rehabilitation. This noble cause is being championed by the Sankofa Radio on Canadian Multicultural Radio (CRM 103.1 FM) in Toronto. Last Sunday, the voices on that radio, Elder Appiah Kubi and Kwaku Agyekumhene, could be heard promoting this cause and urging Ghanaians in Canada and elsewhere to call in with their generous contributions. The response that day during the 2-hour morning program in Twi on CMR 103.1 FM was very encouraging!

A website has been created for well-wishers who want to help bring Barbara back to Canada to make their contributions on the internet. It is: https://www.gofundme.com/yb4q8ywz

Those living in the Greater Toronto Area, who wish to donate in cash or by check can call Elder Appiah Kubi on 416-873-4353 and Agyekumhene on 416-669-6573 or go to the New Era Grocery Store (416-740-7955) in Toronto. Give generously to help this cause!
