The Saudi donated relief items for victims of the recent floods, which hit Accra, generated a lot of controversy in Alajo. Rumours of diversion of the items were all over the place especially when the Red Cross distributed an entirely different consignment of items.
Last Saturday at the Alajo cluster of schools the relief items were finally distributed to many of the victims. According to one of the officials involved in the exercise, Mr. Seidu Salifu, the criterion used for the distribution was to ensure that those who had already received the items from the Red Cross were not given again. Items distributed included blankets, mattresses, plates and others.
According to a member of the family the tenancy will not renewed again. Last Saturday the Libyans were seen moving their belongings from the place as the kids took their last lessons before moving to their new location at the Kanda cluster of schools.
