German giants Schalke 04 say they are in talks with Chelsea to keep Ghana’s Baba Abdul Rahman for the 2017/18 season.
The defender spent the about-to-end season on loan with Die Knappen but a knee injury while on international duty with the Black Stars in January ended his season prematurely.
“We are in talks with Chelsea FC about signing Baba Rahman for next season,” Schalke sporting director,
Baba, who featured 14 times in all competitions and scored once, is back in England and continuing his rehabilitation program at Chelsea’s Cobham fitness centre.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will assent to Schalke’s request now or until after observing the left-back during pre-season later in July.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Premier League side Newcastle are reportedly considering a move for Baba Rahman.
