National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme Seidu Adamu has expressed worry about the pessimistic lens with which he insists some persons look at the social intervention programme.

He said enough is being done by government to improve services to schools.

“Quite recently, the Ministry of Finance released GH¢77 million and that was what we used to clear the arrears for first term and the second term,” Mr Adamu told TV3’s Catherine Frempong on Thursday.

“So now what is outstanding is the third term which is about 51 days and probably this term.”

Mr Adamu said much is being done to improve services being rendered, admitting, however, that the quality of food prepared by some of the caterers leaves much to be desired.

“But there are also some caterers who are doing marvellously well,” he pointed out.

“The quality of the food is good.”

He announced that district assemblies have been charged to monitor activities of caterers “so that caterers who are not living up to expectation will need to be sanctioned.”
