School placement system poorly organized – Peter Nortsu

Member of Parliament (MP) for Akasti North Constituency who doubles as a ranking member on Parliament select committee on education, Hon. Peter Nortsu Kotoe, has observed that the school placement system is poorly organized.

The program last Monday saw thousands of parents and prospective entrants to the Senior High School (SHS) throng designated solution centres across the country including the independence square characterized by chaotic scenes.

However, the education Minister Hon Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh ( MP) and Officials in the Ghana Education Service (GES), as well as other top government appointees, have all posited that sabotage and persons with clandestine motives are those who are behind the failures of the program and fueling challenges that the system is confronted with.

But reacting to these issues and more, on “Adekye Mu Nsem” on Ahotor FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the lawmaker said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has poorly managed and organize the placement system.

Speaking with Citizen Kofi, Hon. Peter Nortsu Kotoe said this is the first time such a mess is happening in the education sector, and the first time having problem with the placement system.

Hon. Peter Nortsu Kotoe, further stressed that, it is incumbent on especially the sector minister to scan for cogent remedies to rectify same in the foreseeable future.

The Akasti North lawmaker, noted the Ghana Education Service must exercise authority in dealing with such matters than to engage in pettiness which may not yield any positive inclinations in the sector.

The MP similarly proposed the Country must ensure a more formalize an approach to nib this perennial issue in the education sector in the bud.
