Scientists Are the Real Prophets…A Muslim Perspective-Part 1

Thu, 29 May 2014 Source: husseini y. babalwaiz

"And those who have been given Knowledge(scientists) know that that which has been revealed to you from your Lord is the Truth."--- Qur'an chapter 34:6

"Do they not carefully analyze the Quran. If it had been from other than Allah then surely they would have found many discrepancies therein ."--- Qur'an chapter 4:82

In fact one would continue to wonder how on earth atheists have already began infiltrating our highly religious Ghanaian society, dominated by Islamic and Christian belief. It even appears strange to may Ghanaians to begin to hear about people claiming there is no need to believe in God, the Al-mighty. As I promised readers by a brief comment yesterday to rebut this article by Graham Knight,(click on the link below).

[http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/artikel.php?ID=310749&comment=10500929#com], I hurriedly prepared some facts to refute and debunk Graham claims, using the very scientists who he was refereeing to, and who rather confirm the divine missions and prophecies. Please click on this link to pull it out and read it. In this article, he claimed that, "They(believers in God) often claim to validate the supposed message carrier by making tenuous links with writing in existing books like the bible or Qur'an. They bring generalized statements about love and peace and no useful information about the existence of an afterlife. They bring generalized statements about love and peace and no useful information about the existence of an afterlife. They claim to predict current events or scientific discoveries but only after they have occurred (see the video edits of TB Joshua removing inconvenient information, or the fabrication or invention of historical events in the New Testament, for example Luke's census of Quirinius designed to place the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem in an attempt to make Jesus fulfill Old Testament prophecy). In short, nothing they say brings any real or useful knowledge but consists of statements any of us could deduce or make up."

It very embarrassing for this author to refuse to review the Qur'an thoroughly to enable him realized that, quite apart from "love and peace ", Allah had made numerous references in the Qur'an "about the existence of an afterlife." And as far as the Qur'an/Islam is concern, it "predicted current events" but only long before "they have occurred". I will therefore elucidate to Graham and fellow readers specific scientific case studies that vindicated the Qur'an after it had predicted over 1400 centuries ago.

Qur'anic Perspective on the Origin of the Universe as one entity or the "Big Bang Theory"

"Have they not who disbelieve seen that the heavens and the earth were joined together(as one piece), then we parted them?"

Analysis: Allah, the Al-mighty in this verse has stated a mystery that was unknown to the greatest physicists and astronauts for centuries. The Qur'an in this verse described the phenomenon of the creation of the universe by using two specific words; Fataq and Ratag. The word Fatag in Arabic language signifies the process of breaking and separation of elements, and the word Ratag signifies the process of fusing or binding together two elements into homogenous mass. Hence the verse reveals that heavens and earth at the beginning were joined together, and that subsequently they were separated. Recent advancements in astronomy especially the Big Bang theory of the creation of the universe perfectly corroborate with this statement of the Qur'an, over 14 centuries ago. The Big Bang theory was first proposed in 1950 by Raph Alpher, Hans Bethe and George Gasmow. It holds that the universe in the beginning was concentrated as one unit in the form of a super dense agglomeration of matter and energy. Some fifteen billion years ago, there was a Big Bang, when within a 10 minutes, 32 seconds, the universe expanded 10 to 30 or more of its initial size. As a result of this explosion the super dense agglomeration of matter and energy was scattered into multitudes of fragments, all travelling with different speeds and in different directions, finally, condensing to form the present heavenly bodies-planets, stars, moon, sun etc. This is what the Qur'an states in this verse, "The heavens and earth were joined together, then We parted them." Who taught Prophet Muhammad this if not God?

Qur'anic Perspective on the "Origin of Life in Water"

"Do not the unbelievers see that…We(Allah) made from water every living thing, then will they not believe?" Qu'ran 21:30

"And Allah created every(living) creature from water; of them there are some that creep on their bellies, some that walk on two legs, and some that walk on four legs; Allah creates what He wills, for verily, Allah has power over all things; We have indeed sent down distinct signs(proofs), and Allah guides those whom He wills." Qur'an 24:45-46

"It is He(Allah) who created man from water, He then has established a relationship of lineage and marriage; for your Lord has power(over all things) Qur'an 25:54

Analysis: The origin of life from water is now such a basic fact that we accept it without any hesitation. This unfortunately could blur our appreciation for these verse. The Arabian Peninsula, Where Prophet Muhammad was born, is a total desert; it does not have a single lake or river. These verse describe a phenomenon that is nonexistent in the Arabian Peninsula from the time of Prophet Muhammad till now, yet it conforms with the current knowledge of science. A team of marine biologists had discovered a previously unknown, even unimagined ecosystem in the deep sea where organism thrive on the chemicals and bacteria associated hydrothermal(water habitat) vents…A new scientific discovery made in early December of 2002 according to BBC has it that, the first cells to initiate all life on earth were formed under the total darkness of the oceans.

Qur'anic Perspective on "Sea Waves"

"(The unbelievers state) is like a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with waves, one over the other, and above it is a cloud of darkness upon darkness, so much that if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it; For anyone to whom Allah gives no light(guidance), there is no light.” –Quran, 24:40

Analysis: One should recall that the cities of Makkah and Madina, where Prophet Muhammad[Peace & Blessings of Allah be upon him] lived all of his life are not close to the sea. Moreover, he never made a voyage during his whole life, yet this description of sea waves is very close to reality. Gary Miller in his book, "The Amazing Qur'an", stated the following anecdote: A Muslim gave a copy of the Qur'an to a man who was a merchant marine. This man knew nothing about history of Islam. When he finished reading the Qur'an, he asked his Muslim friend: "This man, Prophet Muhammad, was he a sailor? When he was told that Prophet Muhammad always lived in a desert and probably did not even see an ocean during his whole life, he embraced Islam on the spot. He acknowledged that this description of the Qur'an could only be described by one who had actually seen a sea storm, whereas Prophet Muhammad never witnessed this phenomenon. One should always noticed that the verse describes the state of a deep ocean as consisting of great waves topped by other great waves one above the other. Mankind saw this phenomenon after the invention of the submarine. The first nuclear submarine became a reality in 1954. A.D. When the mysteries of the deep sea waves were observed for the first time. It was then realized that water lying underneath the surface of the ocean was not calm and tranquil. It was discovered that there were underwater waves now called the deep sea currents, which run one above the other. Often they become so violent that they rearrange sediments at the base of the ocean. Who besides Allah could have given this deep sea information to Prophet Muhammad?

Qur'anic Perspective About Mystery of Iron

"Indeed We have sent our Messengers with clear evidence, and sent down with them the Book(AI-Quran), and the Balance, that mankind may observe justice; And We sent down (Nazala) iron, wherein is mighty power, as well many benefits to mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will support Him and His Messengers in the unseen, Indeed Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might." Quran, 57:25

Analysis: It is remarkable that the Qur'an uses the word Nazala for iron, stating that it was sent down to earth. Geologists now agree that the entire energy of our solar system is not sufficient to produce one atom of iron. Additionally, they state that four times as much as energy as that of the surface of the earth. The geologists thus conclude that iron is an extra-terrestrial material that came to earth from some other planet. The journal of Chemical Education, Sep. 1990(USA) and New Scientists issue of January 13th 1990(USA) stated: Iron, atomic nuclei are packed as tightly as possible. Iron is the heaviest element that was made in a star by standard nucleus burning. It has the most stable nucleus. The energy required to synthesize iron is not available on earth. Therefore the iron found in the earth must have been synthesized in outer space. The word Nazala to the early commentators of the Qur'an was one of the mysteries of the Qur'an. Recent advancement of scientific knowledge has changed this mystery of the Qur'an to a fact of science. Who besides Allah, the Exalted could have absolute knowledge which excels and encompasses all levels of human knowledge?

Qur'anic Perspective on "Stages in Human Embryo"

"What is the matter with you that, you are not mindful of Allah's majesty; Knowing that it is He who had created you in diverse stages?" Qur'an 71:13-14

"He (Allah) makes you in the womb of your mother in stages one after another." Quran 39:6

Analysis: Once it was known that human being develops from fertilization of male sperm and female ovum, the question arose regarding the growth of a single zygote cell into a multi-cellular, multi-organ, and multi-system human being. Though the earlier scientists differed concerning the origin of the new individual, they held the common belief that a fully formed human being was present in either the male secretion or the female ovum. Additionally, they also held the common belief that the growth of human embryo was just a non discrete process of increase in the size of a basic form. This concept prevailed among many scientists even after the invention of microscope in 1673 AD. The Qur'an on the contrary, categorically rejects this concept and states that the human embryo grows in successive stages, a fact now fully established by embryologists. It should be noted that the idea of embryonic development in successive stages was first suggested by Wolf in 1759 AD. The specific stages of human embryo development, however, were not proposed until 1940 A.D. It is only recently that the embryologists have established the various stages of embryonic development. It is an evident miracle that this information was present in the Qur'an centuries before the embryologist could even conceive it.

Qur'anic Perspective on the "Presence of sensory nerves in the skin"

"Those who reject Our Signs, We(Allah) shall soon cast them into the fire; As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skin, that they may taste the penalty(of fire); For Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise!" Qur'an 4:56

Analysis: This verse states that Allah will replace the skin of the inmates of Hell [atheists] so that they may taste the penalty of fire again and again. In other words, this verse explains that the feeling or sensation of pain is localized to the skin. Human anatomists have now shown that sensory receptors of pain are located in the skin. Consequently, partial skin burns are very painful as the receptors in deep skin are still intact. On the other hand, complete skin burns are painless as this destroys the receptor nerves as well. It is an evident miracle of the Qur'an that it describes such minute details of anatomy of skin, when it states: "As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skin, that they may taste the penalty." Professor Tagatat Tajasen, chairman of the department of Anatomy, Chiang Mai University in Thailand initially could not believe that the Qur'an mentioned this fact. He later verified the translation of this verse. He was so impressed by the scientific accuracy of the Qur'an that at the eight Saudi Medical Conference held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he embraced Islam in a public session.

Qur'anic Perspective on the "Expansion of the Universe"

"With power did We(Allah) construct the heaven, verily, We are (continuously) expanding it." Qur'an 51:47

Analysis: It was only after the development of the radio telescope in 1937 that the necessary details of the expansion of the universe were observed and established. Out of these observations astronomers have now presented the so called "Hubble Constant" theory, which gives the quantity currently used to gauge the rate at which the universe is expanding or not, it is rather the rate at which the universe is expanding. The astrophysicists express this expansion in terms of a distance of twenty billion light years. The radio telescopes have now provided evidence that the revelation of such recent knowledge of astrophysics in the Qur'an fourteen centuries ago be explained in any other way than accepting the Qur'an as a divine book from Allah, the Exalted!

In fact we can go on and on, but I will reserve more of these factual evidences where scientists vindicate the Qur'an for another series in the course of the days. Now let us consider some amazing statement made by scientists and intellectuals that culminated into embracing of Islam by many of them:

After a study which lasted ten years, the famous French physician Maurice Bucaille addressed the French Academy of Medicine in 1976 and expressed the complete agreement of the Qur’an and established findings of modern science. He presented his study on the existence in the Qur’an of certain statements concerning physiology and reproduction. His reason for doing that was that "our knowledge of these disciplines is such, that it is impossible to explain how a text produced at the time of the Qur’an could have contained ideas that have only been discovered in modern times".

Decades later a noted embryologist Keith L. Moore and expert in his field, upon being presented with the statements made in the Qur’an regarding the stages of the formation of the embryo from the mixing of the male and female gametes up to the embryo’s full development remarked "It has been a pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur’an about Human Development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God or Allah because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later." Professor Moore presented his findings to scientists at several conferences. Several Canadian periodicals published many of Moore’s statements and in addition he presented three television programs in which he highlighted the compatibility of modern science with what has been revealed in the Qur’an 1400 years ago. Consequently, he was asked: "Does this mean that you believe that the Qur’an is the word of God?" to which he replied "I find no difficulty in accepting this." In fact Professor Moore was so amazed at the accuracy of the descriptions and the terminology used for the various stages of the development of the embryo that he modified his own textbook on the subject. He incorporated all the relevant Qur’anic passages and authentic statements of the Prophet Muhammad into his book, The Developing Human: Clinically oriented embryology with Islamic additions, which was published by WB Saunders in 1987 and was a standard university textbook in the United States. The book now contains passages of the Qur’an and the Hadeeth (verified statements of the Prophet Muhammad) for every stage of development and Professor Moore has also adopted the classification used in the above two sources.

Consider also the statement of Tejatet Tejasen (Professor at the Dept. of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mei University, Thailand) after his study on the Qur’an passages dealing with embryology: "From my studies and what I have learnt at this conference I believe that everything that has been recorded in the Qur’an 1400 years ago must be true. That can be proved the scientific way". Also the statement of E. Marshal Johnson (Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Anatomy, Daniel Bough Institute, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA) when he became aware of such statements in the Qur’an and investigated them: "The Qur’an describes not only the development of external form but emphasizes also the internal stages - the stages inside the embryo of its creation and development, emphasizing major events recognized by contemporary science... If I was to transpose myself into that era, knowing what I do today and describing things, I could not describe the things that were described... I see no evidence to refute the concept that this individual Muhammad had to be developing this information from some place... so I see nothing in conflict with the concept that divine intervention was involved..."

Upon being presented with hadeeths (verified statements of the Prophet Muhammad) concerning dominant and recessive characteristics Joe Leigh Simpson (Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois, USA) said: "... these Hadeeths could not have been obtained on the basis of the scientific knowledge that was available at the time of the’writer’... It follows that not only is there no conflict between genetics and religion (Islam) but in fact religion (Islam) may guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches... There exist statements in the Qur’an shown centuries later to be valid which support knowledge in the Qur’an having been derived from God".

Consider also the statement of T.V.N. Persaud (Professor and Head, Dept. of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Manitoba, Canada):"Muhammad was a very ordinary man, he couldn’t read, didn’t know how to write, in fact he was an illiterate... were talking about 1400 years ago, you have some illiterate person making profound statements that are amazingly accurate, of a scientific nature... I personally can’t see how this could be mere chance, there are too many accuracies and like Dr. Moore I have no difficulty in my mind reconciling that this is a divine inspiration or revelation which lead him to these statements".

These are just a number of quotes from the "Scientific Community" regarding the nature and the origins of the Qur’an. In fact the Qur’an and Hadeeth do not just talk about embryology but hundreds of other phenomenon(as mentioned above) including the earth and sun being round, spinning around their own axis and following their own orbits, the origin and formation of the universe, the two types of seas between which is a barrier, the role of mountains in establishing the earth crust, the formation of milk in cows, the cause of sexual diseases, the location of pain receptors within the body, the expansion of the universe, the precise nature of the water cycle, the change in atmospheric pressure at high altitudes, the gender of the bee which is responsible for producing honey (female), the stars consuming themselves via the combustion of their gases and this being the source of their light and many more.

With these precious and priceless information, we hope our atheists community, led by Graham and Ros(who wrote; Why I am an Atheist last, week and I debunked him) will render a sober reflection and make a U-turn to belief system, if they are not naïve to reject all these powerful and pervasive proves. And my dear readers, for the sake of more evidence, I went the extra mile in the course of my in-depth research and pulled this hyper/url links below; they are youtube videos of scientists, atheists and Christian priests who converted to Islam, by reading this great literature par excellence! Al-Qur'an! Please listen to all the tapes, and you can see more than those I pasted on this article.
