The Deputy Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Region, Nana Aduse Poku has said there is nothing wrong with NPP members ‘enjoying special treatment’ in security recruitment since they are not from China or Argentina, MyNewsGh.com reports.
According to the regional executive, NPP footsoldiers “have the right to enjoy” under a government they voted for because they are qualified.
“Please if I may ask, are NPP footsoldiers from China or Argentina? Are they not also Ghanaians?”, he asked.
He said there are special programs of the NPP government including free SHS, restored trainee allowances and NaBco which is non-discriminatory and allows NDC members to also enjoy. He said it was therefore fair that some opportunities were exclusively left for NPP members as an advantage for their loyalty to Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.
“NDC should know that NPP footsoldiers are going to be fixed for them to also enjoy and rightly so. All government appointees should give recruitment opportunities to party people first before they consider others(from the NDC).”
He added that “all available opportunities must be opened to our gallant Footsoldiers for they deserve it;their toils must pay off! NPP youth must be given these privileges so they can get the zeal and energy to work for our party to retain power.”
“In fact, Nana Addo has even been magnanimous with them (NDC). I know some recruitments that have benefitted or are benefitting some NDC apparatchiks”, Mr. Aduse wrote.
“Its the NPP footsoldiers who toiled for the NDC to get their wards into Free SHS. NPP footsoldiers risked their lives in the bushes for the NDC to enjoy NABCO. In fact some NPP footsoldiers lost their lives along the line for the NDC and their wards to enjoy the restoration of Teacher and Nursing Training allowances. I know some NDC people who are benefitting from Planting for Food and Jobs at our sweat.” He explained.
“After all its a proven fact that its only the NPP that can help Ghana to develop; the NDC can never be an alternative!” He ended.
