Sector minister for works and housing visited Ada coastal project

The Minister for Works and Housing, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah and his entourage including the media has visited the second phase of the Ada coastal ongoing project in Ada.

The second phase of the project which cost E1, 65million Euro’s will be completed next year.

According to him the president of the republic of Ghana, is much concern about the situation people living in Ada are faced that is why he invested over E60million Euro’s to complete the first phase of the project.

After the project we will find beach, land reclaim and the good people of Ada will enjoy the beauty of the site, since it will no longer destroyed their homes. he said.

‘I understand there are about three hundred people working here and am happy to note that most of workers here are local perceive from outside and that is how a company must do, especially when they go to communities to work, the locals must be given the platform to deliver their best. he said.

This he said, with the hope that it continuous that way since there has been a long relationship with the Ministry and the Dredging consultant.

He said the ministry will have a meeting with the members of the Dredging consultant to iron out any trending, obstacle and challenging surround them as they look forward to the next development.

Project Manager in charge of the project of international Marie dredging consultant ( IMDC), Andre Olivier says, some benefit government can derived from the project is Community involvement, stabilization of coastline, increase in tourism, increased in industry and invest in the coastline, example is the salt industry.

He said lack of communication and decision making remains the biggest challenge as far as the project is concern and therefore seek an immediate redress to resolve the menace.

Andre Olivier added that the future of the project is to expand the project from east of West of Totope to East of Groyne A.
