The 61-year old security officer, Andreas Klutse, who was attacked by two vicious dogs at the Teshie General Hospital construction site is due for surgery at the 37 Military Hospital but his Chinese bosses, one of whom stood by and watched the dogs attack him and tear his flesh to the bone are yet to visit him.
According to Samuel Klutse, Andreas’ son, none of his father’s bosses have not bothered to find out how he is faring adding that they have not received a single call from them since the incident occurred.
Andreas, a security man with CGC, the Chinese company in charge of construction of the Teshie General Hospital, was attacked by two big dogs, a Bullmastiff and a Doberman at the site.
An eyewitness said the attack occurred at 5.30am on Monday, September 27 in the presence of the Chinese Electrical Engineer of the project, popularly known as Tobacco who was walking the dogs when they attacked Andreas.
He was rushed to the La General Hospital where he was admitted after he collapsed. He was transferred to the 37 Military Hospital emergency ward as a result of the severity of his wounds and is even now in excruciating pain.
Samuel Klutse told Adom News that the dogs tore his father’s flesh to the bone. He said the dogs chewed at his father until his right arm bone and veins and right leg bone became bare. “Eyewitnesses told us that pieces of my father’s flesh were left on the ground at the spot the dogs attacked him,” he said.
He said the family is angry with his father’s bosses because they have not cared to go visit the old man to even find out about the medical bills they are incurring.
He said “through the La General Hospital to 37 Military Hospital, the Chinese people have not bothered to come see the old man even though it was through their carelessness that the dogs attacked my father.
“This is very annoying – how can we sit in our own country and some Chinese people will come and abuse us and walk freely,” he said.
Adom News managed to reach the Ghanaian Administrator of the site, Joshua Bosomtwe and he admitted that this is not the only time the untamed dogs have attacked a staff member.
“I have also been attacked by the dogs before, and three other workers have suffered the same fate,” he said.
Joshua noted that in such instances the Chinese bosses checked the victim into a hospital and paid all the bills, so he was confident that Andreas’ bills will be settled eventually.
Joshua said plans are also afoot for his Chinese bosses to visit Andreas before he is discharged from the hospital.
