Security guard gruesomely murdered after assailants distort CCTV

A security guard at the Frimps Oil Company Ltd filling station, located at Abesim-Dominase Junction, has been gruesomely murdered by unknown assailants while on duty.

The incident, which is suspected to have been a robbery, reportedly occurred on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

According to a video report shared on EDhub on X on October 7, 2025, the crime scene provided investigators with an immediate obstacle: a CCTV camera that was positioned towards the area of the attack had been turned away, leaving the police without any video footage of how the murder took place.

Police sources suggest the victim, reported to be about 60 years old, may have been attacked while asleep.

The Assembly Member for the Abesim-Dominase area confirmed the discovery of a chilling piece of evidence.

“We heard that armed robbers attacked the filling station and in the process killed the security man.

“When we went to the crime scene, there was a pestle covered in blood. We suspect that the armed robbers used it to knock him out ahead of the robbery,” the assembly member said.

The Sunyani police have since taken the body for an autopsy to formally determine the cause of death.

Investigations into the murder and the suspected robbery are currently ongoing.
