Security man convicted for reckless driving

A private security man, Mallam Doe, who drove recklessly resulting in the death of another person at Moshie-Zongo, has been convicted by a Kumasi Circuit Court.

This was after he pleaded guilty to charges of reckless driving and causing the death of 24-year old Moro Boya.

The court presided over Mr. William Boampong ordered that he should be held in prison custody until December 8, when he would be told of his punishment.

Police Superintendent Emmanuel Akunnor said the incident happened on Saturday, November 22, at about 1930 hours.

The convict, who was on duty at a security post, offered to help re-park a Mercedes Benz bus, but he drove it into a stationary Opel Astra, which in turn hit the deceased, a passerby, killing him instantly.
