Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was received by the King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, at his residence on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

In a post on social media, the Royal Family announced Asantehene’s visit to Sandringham House, built over a century ago.

“The King welcomes The Asantehene - Ruler of the Kingdom of Ashanti in Ghana - to Sandringham House. His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is currently in the UK as part of his Silver Jubilee celebrations,” the post read, accompanied by a picture of the two royals sharing a warm handshake.

This visit marks Asantehene’s first visit to the King following his coronation on May 6, 2023, which Otumfuo Osei Tutu II attended as one of the invited guests.

Otumfuo is currently in the United Kingdom on an official visit as part of his 25th Anniversary on the Golden Stool.

The Asantehene, who departed Ghana on Saturday, July 13, 2024, has held talks with the management of the Victoria and Albert Museum, delivered a lecture at the British Museum, and celebrated Awukudae in the UK.

He is also expected to celebrate the Akwasidae festival before returning to Ghana.
