Kwesi Nyantakyi, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, has thrown down the gauntlet to sports journalists in the country, daring them to present their "three deadliest" presenters to face him in a crossfire on Neat FM.

The GFA President challenged all the sports journalists (not excluding Countryman Songo, Presenter of Fire to Fire on Asempa FM, Peace FM's Sports Presenter Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Gary Al-Smith of Joy FM, Christopher Opoku, GNA's Veronica Commey among others), to meet him face to face on Adakabre Frimpong Manso's programme to argue out their case regarding how he (Nyantakyi) has managed or mis-managed the country's football affairs.

It is a known fact that the FA President, Mr. Nyantakyi, is not in the good books of some, if not most Ghanaians; constantly coming under a barrage of criticisms from sections of the media, with others even calling for his immediate resignation.

Some have argued that he and his team at the helm of the country's sports affairs, have failed to revamp Ghana's sports, particularly improve the cause of the national teams.

Following this year's AFCON which saw the Black Stars ending up as the fourth in the tournament, Countryman Songo and Dan Kwaku Yeboah were on Peace FM's Kokrokoo lambasting the FA President and his administration, and called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to dissolve the Association so as to pave way for new persons to head it.

"He has failed woefully"; Countryman Songo screamed out, hence stressing that President Nyantakyi should not be allowed to hold another election before he exits office.

“If you allow them to go and vote, they’re the same caucus. They’re the same animal farm system. They’re the same friends and cronies. The same gang! So, they will go unopposed for all the posts if you leave them to vote because it’s an association . . . the same thing will occur that they’ll vote for themselves. They have to go. All what they can do is what they’ve done,” he said.

But speaking in an exclusive interview with Adakabre Frimpong Manso on "Me Man Nti" on Neat FM, Kwesi Nyantakyi dared journalists in the sports fraternity to either get off their moral high horses and square off with him in an intellectual debate or forever zip up.

"...select three deadliest sports journalists and bring them to face me...if they’re not able to present those sports journalists to challenge me on my leadership and performance at the FA, they should shut up and sit somewhere, and allow us to have our peace of mind”.

A clearly riled Kwesi Nyantakyi was emphatic that the media cannot decide for him on issues that are "personal".

“I cannot think far. I can’t think far. Sometimes, some people think we are children or we are not wise. Though I am from a village, I am not a fool. If we come from a village, it doesn’t mean we’re stupid and so you who stay in the city must be listened to because you live in Accra or Kumasi or somewhere else. It’s not like that. You must make a cogent point which will be compelling to me. To even resign is my personal decision. And you’re on radio saying I should resign, come and resign for me. Write the letter for me to go!" he further stated.
