Sentenced two years for stealing in church

Kumasi, April 2, GNA - Kofi Boakye, 20-year-old driver's mate has been sentenced to two years' jail term in hard labour by a Kumasi Circuit Court for stealing items in a church. Boakye, together with his two accomplices who are on the run, also stole speakers, amplifiers, extension plugs, ceiling fan, a hymn book and a wall clock belonging to the Kwanwoma Presbyterian Church in the Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti Region. He pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful entry and stealing. Police Chief Inspector Charles K.Fosu told the court that Boakye and his accomplices unlawfully entered the church on March 13 and stole the items. The church conducted investigations and found the items with Boakye.
