The forthcoming Junior Common Room elections for residents of the Frances Elizabeth Sey Hall at the University of Ghana will see the team of Dennis Kwasi Kumi and Mathias Susu Assey contest unopposed in the Presidential race as two other aspirants were disqualified.

The team of Daniel Obeng and Samuel Ofosu Amos, and Crispus Ohene Ankomah and Patrick Kwame Eyiah were both eliminated from the race by the vetting committee as their CGPA could not meet the required 3.0.

Stephan Osei Bonsu, the presidential aspirant who, barely two hours to the deadline, shocked his running mate with a resignation letter and opted for the office of Organizing Secretary, thereby submitting forms in that regard, was also disqualified over CGPA shortfalls.

He was the only aspirant gunning for the Organizing Secretary office.

His disqualification will necessitate the reopening of another window to allow other persons to pick nomination forms to contest just that office.

Meanwhile, UniversNews gathers that it is unlikely that the disqualified aspirants will seek for redress.

The 2019/2020 Sey JCR elections is scheduled to be held later this month.

It seeks to elect new JCR officers for the 2020/2021 academic year.
