There has been a massive shake-up in the leadership of some Select Committees of Ghana’s parliament.
According to Starr News’ Parliamentary correspondent, Ibrahim Alhassan, the Chairman of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee and Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga and the Ranking Member of the Health Committee,Joseph Yieleh Chireh, have both been booted out as a result of the shake-up.
Mr. Ayariga already serves in the ECOWAS Parliament and reports indicate that his absence is negatively affecting his work as the Chairman of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee.
He has been replaced by a former Deputy Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine.
Also Wa West MP, Joseph Yieleh Chireh, who is a member of the Pan-African Parliament, has been replaced with Juaboso MP, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh as the Ranking Member of the Health Committee.
From the majority side, Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah replaces Yaw Frimpong Addo as the Chairman of the Government Assurances Committee.
