Shootings in Ghana

It may have been noted that most of the reports on the recent shooting incidents in Ghana were filed by the foreign media.

GR is please to affirm that we have now received at our offices in London and Southsea copies of the reports of the incidents surronding the demonstrations of Thursday 11 May 1995, including the names of some of the dead and injured, filed by both the state and private press in Ghana.

We shall bring you full details of the reports in GR 1:19 which comes to you on Friday 19 May 1995. This means some of the items already given out in headlines preview may fall victim to the constraints of space. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause our cherished readers.

Furthermore, we can confirm that reports reaching us suggest that there have been no further demonstrations since last week. However, another major demo is beleived to be planned to take place in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, this Thursday 18 May 1995.
